In today's world of increasing life spans, improvements in medical technology, and the rise of so called "lifestyle" diseases, it is more important than ever to develop strategies to manage chronic medical conditions. Research has shown that exercise is an effective intervention in a wide range of chronic conditions, in many cases being at least as good as the latest drug therapies, and in some cases being the best intervention known.

Here's a list of just some of the conditions that exercise intervention is able to help:

Medicare - Enhanced Primary Care Plans

In January 2006, the Federal Government recognised the effectiveness of exercise as a way of managing complex chronic conditions by including Exercise Physiologists in the list of Allied Health Professionals who are able to provide services to clients being managed through Enhanced Primary Care Plans. An EPC plan can incorporate a variety of professional services to achieve long term positive benefits for patients. The plan is formulated and coordinated by a GP, and the patient receives Medicare rebates for the professional services received under the plan.

Body Dynamics is able to provide services to EPC patients referred by a GP, including gym-based and home-based programs. Where possible, consultations are bulk-billed to Medicare, otherwise the patient can claim the Medicare rebate themselves.
